It is possible to install heylogin in a way that the extension is installed silently without user interaction. Also, the user won't be able to uninstall or disable the extension.
On Windows, this can be done using group policies.
Chrome
- If this has not already been done, create a Chrome policy. Please consult other tutorials for this.
- In the Group Policy Editor, go to Administrative Templates → Google Chrome → Extensions and then select Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions
- Select Enabled.
- Click Show.
- Enter the app ID of the heylogin Chrome extension:

- Disable Chrome's integrated Password Manager by navigating to Google Chrome → Password manager and protection and then select Enable saving passwords to the password manager
- Select Disabled
Microsoft Edge
- If this has not already been done, import the Edge policy templates and create an Edge policy. Please consult other tutorials for this.
- In the Group Policy Editor, go to Administrative Templates → Microsoft Edge → Extensions and then select Control which extensions are installed silently.
- Select Enabled.
- Click Show.
- Enter the app ID of the heylogin Edge extension:

- Disable Chrome's integrated Password Manager by navigating to Google Chrome → Password manager and then select Enable saving passwords to the password manager
- Select Disabled
Firefox
- If this has not already been done, import the Firefox policy templates and create an Firefox policy. Please consult other tutorials for this.
- In the Group Policy Editor, go to Administrative Templates → Firefox → Extensions and then select Extensions to Install.
- Select Enabled.
- Click Show.
- Add the full URL to the Add-on from Mozilla:

- If you like, you can prevent heylogin from being removed by selecting Prevent extensions from being disabled or removed and entering the URL again:

- Disable Firefox’s integrated Password Manager by navigating direct within Firefox Administrative Templates Policy definitions and then Right click and edit both the Offer to save logins and Offer to save logins (default) and set to Disabled, Click Apply and then OK.
- Disable Chrome's integrated Password Manager by navigating to Firefox → Offer to save logins and Offer to save logins (default) and set both to Disabled.
The URL changes when heylogin is updated to a newer version. To locate the current version, go to this website: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/heylogin/. Then look at the small "Download file” link below the big installation button. This URL links to the most recent version of heylogin.
